So, I also use that as a reason for me pirating. While eBooks are usually cheaper than print, there are a few cases where they’re still too expensive for me.

I have an Kobo eReader & I can use a font on that called OpenDyslexic that helps me be able to read more books than I would otherwise. Another personal example is that my disabilities mean I struggle to read print books. :lĮdit: Plus, a lot of media is either delayed or not available. I don’t wanna risk catching COVID just to buy an eShop card. When I’m slightly less broke, I do pay for music etc, but I usually pirate it.Īlso, in my case of being a 3DS owner in the PAL region & living in an area w a lot of COVID cases, I legit can’t use Nintendo’s eShop because they’ve disabled the ability to use credit/debit cards. I’d have to start earning a lot more money to stop me pirating. I’m broke as fuck & the only streaming service I can afford is Spotify, since I have a university student discount & it’s literally half the price per month.

  • I should be able to just to buy it once, and then be able to use it forever.
  • I shouldn't have to subscribe to dozen of streaming services, just to be able to consume everything I want.
  • Just waiting for the Epic launcher to do its thing sometimes takes forever. However, I ended up going back to my pirated copy. I should be able to launch it, without needing to go through some launcher and shit. I shouldn't be barred from using the stuff just because of some licensing error on your end. But please, really make sure that shit is reliable.
  • A one-time online validation/activation is fine, but requiring a constant internet connection is asking too much.
  • Especially when I'm an airplane or place without an internet connection. I should be able to play that shit offline.
  • If a game has a single player mode, then it shouldn't require "always-on" connection.
  • Then one day, I wanted to listen to that particular song, but it's not there anymore, because some label company pulled it out.
  • On Spotify, I find a song that I like and add to my playlist.
  • That shit should be there, whenever I want to enjoy it.

I shouldn't have to use a VPN or just through some hoops, just to enjoy the things I like.I wanted to watch a particular show on Paramount+ or Netflix, but it's only available in America. Then as soon as I got off the plane in Asia, half of my songs are gone! I started building up my Spotify playlist in America.
